What is the Land Transport Master Plan?
The Land Transport Master Plan is Singapore’s long-term masterplan which charts out the future of our land transport system, to make everyday travel easier, faster and more comfortable.
In 2019, the Land Transport Authority introduced the LTMP 2040 with three main goals:
20-Minute Towns and 45-Minute City: A transport network that is convenient, well-connected and fast
Transport for All: A transport ecosystem characterised by gracious behaviour and inclusive infrastructure
Healthy Lives, Safer Journeys: A transport environment that supports healthy lives and enables safer journeys

Why a refresh?
However, since then, Singapore has seen significant changes. Our population is ageing, the weather is becoming warmer with heavier rainfall, and some of us are travelling further for work and leisure.
But these changes also bring new opportunities! Advances in data, artificial intelligence (AI), and autonomous vehicles offer exciting ways to improve our transport system.
That is why we’re refreshing the Land Transport Masterplan. This Refresh aims to adapt to these new challenges and embrace new technologies, ensuring our transport system continues to serve you well into the future.
